Credits and usage
How runs are paid for, and where to watch what you spend.
Runs are paid from a credit balance in US dollars. Each stage is charged as it finishes, based on the tokens each model used, so the models in your council shape what a run costs.
Where credits come from
Your subscription adds credits every month, and credits you don't use roll over. A top-up adds credits between renewals. The Free plan is a one-time trial rather than a monthly allowance. Plans and what they include are on Pricing.
Keeping an eye on cost
The War Room shows a live cost meter while a run is going. Set sami.liveCostMeter.budgetWarnUsd to get a one-time warning when a run reaches that amount; the warning never stops a run.
For a limit on the whole month, set a monthly spend cap under Billing. Once it is reached, new runs don't start until you raise the cap or the next period begins.
When your balance runs out
A run needs credit to start. With an empty balance, a new run does not start until you add credits under Billing. A run that works in several passes checks the balance again before each pass and stops before a pass it can no longer pay for; what the earlier passes did stays in your project.
Ultra and Enterprise runs are never stopped by the balance. Nothing is charged behind your back on any plan.
When a run reaches its usage budget
Separately from your balance, most plans give each run a usage budget; Enterprise has none. If a run reaches it, the current stage finishes first, then the run pauses, and the War Room offers to continue with the existing context.
